NDT TRAINING IN CHENNAI
NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING
NDT is a method for inspection of components without destroying the object. NDT techniques are used both for quality control in the production line and for inspection when used parts are maintained.
ULTRASONIC TESTING
Ultrasonic Testing employs high-frequency sound pulses that are emitted from a transducer. The sound wave is induced in to the material through a probe which is usually in contact with the material. These sound waves propagate through the material, and are reflected back to the probe when they reach an interface.
RADIOGRAPHIC TESTING
Radiographic Testing as a Non-Destructive Testing is based on the same principle as medical radiography in a hospital. A piece of radiographic film is placed on the remote side of the material under inspection and radiation is then transmitted through from one side of the material to the remote side where the radiographic film is placed.
MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING
Magnetic Particle Testing is an Conventional Testing Method which involves the component under testing being magnetized. This magnetization process is supplemented by the application of ferromagnetic particles to the already magnetized
LIQUID PENETRANT TESTING
Detecting Surface-breaking Flaws Liquid penetrant inspection Liquid penetrant testing, also known as liquid penetrant inspection, dye penetrant testing, penetrant testing or LPI, is reliable for detecting surface-breaking flaws in materials with a non-porous surface such as metals, plastics, glass and ceramics. This method relies on a fluorescent or visible dye penetrant seeping into a flaw such as a lap, seam, fracture or crack to form a surface indication that can be evaluated under special lighting. Both fluorescent and visible dye penetrant testing are performed at LTI on products up to 25 ft. in length.
